1 The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight (2008) is a superhero movie directed by Christopher Nolan. Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is the second part of Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy and a sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Morgan Freeman.
The dark knight is the second part of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Nolan’s vision of the famous characters from the comics is totally different rather than any superhero movie. The main trait of this film is the fact that there is no typical good vs evil story-based,
In simple terms there is no concept of the black and white film covers a grey area so to speak, every hero has flaws and every villain has their point.
the story represents deep philosophical ideas in the form of characters and conflict between them.
One of the reasons that make this movie so great is the music by Hans Zimmer. every main character has its own unique theme for example;
a tune for the joker is just an infinite high moving pitch, using this technique he gives us a sense of the stretching string which might pop up in every second and even in the frames where the joker is not appearing, as soon you hear this particular tune you know that the joker will appear, all of these adds a sense of terror and chaos to the character perfectly.
The tune of the batman is heroic and dramatic at the same time, it’s not a typical heroic march drum-roll with trumpet cliche, this is the kind of tune that mimics the dark side of the protagonist as well.
In the origin story, Bruce Wayne is just, an avenger for his personal reasons, not a hero, the fact that his vengeance is towards the criminal organization of Gotham city does not makes him a hero. throughout the series, we see the development of this character who is all about what it means to fight for justice, and how great sacrifice is required.
